Message from the Managing Director

Looking back to almost thirty years ago, I vividly remember the day that I inherited the brand name, "Longshore", from my late Brother-In-Law Henry Zeffertt. I made a vow, that day, that I would always honor his memory by making "Longshore" a name that would be respected all over the world. I am proud to say that I have kept that promise. Today, "Longshore" is one of the most esteemed names in Original Equipment Manufacturing.

Owing much to people like Jim Pressman of The Pressman Toy Corporation, Longshore has been able to make its mark in the Toys and Games field; an area that has become the heart of our business.

Nothing in my career, however, pleases me as much as my annual trip to Europe with my good friend and game expert Michael Kohner. It has not only permitted me to travel to many beautiful cities, but most importantly, it has allowed me to meet so many nice individuals and their fine companies. Many of these people have become not only business associates but true family friends.

Good people, as we all know, can be hard to find. We at Longshore are therefore truly grateful to have had so many members of the world toy community contribute to our success. To each of you, we say thank you.

Supreme service and communication by every member of the Longshore team have been the hallmark of our business from the beginning. As a result, our business has grown, not through marketing, but by one person telling another person that Longshore can be trusted to get the job done on time and as promised.

Hong Kong and China based entrepreneurs as well as the rest of the world's toy industries are now facing unprecedented challenges in terms of fluctuating currencies, raw material costs, new labor laws and more. Let me assure you that we at Longshore are, despite these challenges, ready and able to bring your products to market on time and as promised.

Our vision for the toy industry remains in China. There is simply no substitute for this country's large and hard working work force and its enormous infrastructure. We will, however, explore every way possible to keep costs down through our strong commitment to expanded technology and continuous improvement.

Regardless of all of these challenges, I and my sons are totally committed to serving the Toy and Game industry for many years to come.

Eventually, like all difficult moments, this period of economic unrest will pass. What will never change, however, is the joy and happiness that we and the Toy and Game Industry bring to children and their parents every day.
